The French Spaniel is certainly one of the oldest races of pointer.  This dog is at the origin of the various varieties of hunting spaniels.  It is very intelligent and  anxious to learn.  The French Spaniel has a pleasant character. It has to be trained gently.

The French Spaniel is a dog of average size, elegant and athletic.  Its splendid white dress, with brown spots can be slightly speckled.  Its beautiful large oval eyes of dark amber express tenderness and intelligence.

The French Spaniel is an exceptional  general-purpose pointer.  It exhibits an exceptional aptitude for hunting the woodcock, the snipe and the crested-grouse. Versatile, it is good on the plain, in the woods and in the marsh.  It fears neither brambles  nor cold water. It admirably adapts to cold and bad weather

The French Spaniel is an exceptional general-purpose pointer and an avid hunter. It is also a « family dog » and an ideal companion in all circumtances.

It is very attached to its master and develops  complicity while living with him.  It is balanced, frank, calm and very patient with children. It adapts well to the house rules and it is happy living inside, even after  it’s sadness when the hunting season is over.
